The "Fairy Duster"

In my opinion the Foundry panhead is the best bike at the GNRS and has the best display as well as the set-up looks like it came straight out of an early 1960s Cycle World Magazine show issue!

The Maiden Voyage

I want to give a special thanks to Meatball for all the time and effort he put into the Slow Poke to get it running and finished. Also, a huge thanks to Dennis, Victor, and Lucky who served as my volunteer cleaning crew on Thursday. She rides really smoothly but we still have to sort out a couple of carb issues and wire the lights!

This picture was from set-up day and you can see the white rocks in the background I had planned on using but decided to go with the blanket because of the near perfect color match! Thanks to Lucky for the use of his awesome vintage cartoon snail planter!

(from Street Chopper Web)

The Slow Poke came up short at the GNRS coming in second place in a category of two. Such is life at a snail's pace!

"Slow Poke" Sign is Finished!

I can say I was truly ecstatic when I picked up the acrylic sign in its finished state as shown above. I think the Undertaker went above and beyond the call of duty on this one. There is one mistake though and I'm sure you'll catch it if you look closely. The bike still has a few issues to sort out tomorrow morning and we'll be working to meet a 2:00 PM check in deadline. Well, if all else fails, I can say the sign looked good!

"Slow Poke" Tank is Back!

The tank is finally ready for fitment as I just received it back yesterday from Harpoon's polisher and took it that same day to the Undertaker for the cartoon snails. Harpoon did exceptional work on the paint and I'm very satisfied with how the snails came out as well. Currently the Undertaker is working on the Show Sign and Meatball is readying the '51 Triumph for the Grand National Roadster Show next weekend. I'm hoping everything will go smoothly from here on out as the clock is ticking!

Born Losers Lobby Cards

I just this movie last night for the first time and the trike with backwards handlebars is insane. There were some nice panheads and sportys as well!

Asphalt Gods

Here are two of the four posters for Gabe Griffin's motorcycle documentary premiering at Sundance in 2011!

Siberian Ice Racing!

What a great action shot of an ice racer and his machine from a 1965 Cycle Magazine!

Cycle-Go-Round!

I found this photo at the swap last weekend. I'm guessing its from the 70's but the cycle themed Merry-Go-Round is kind of cool!

I picked this photo up at the swapmeet this morning as I thought the bikes were pretty cool even though not Schwinns!

Bear Parts Co.

I just received a couple of emails from Adam Nickel of Australia regarding his new company, Bear Parts Co. and their reproduction Bates seats. As it stands now there is smooth version and a pleated available and p-pads are coming soon. Above is a picture of a Bear's first DiCE advertisment. Click on their link for more information as its hard to find a flawless Bates seat and if you're doing a show bike one of these beautys may come in handy: http://www.bearpartsco.com

New Western Outlaws: Barbarians on Bikes - True Magazine 8/65

Just for the record I'm posting this article for its historical content only and do not personally condone the Hells Angels lifestyle or values, though their stripped down bikes were among the best built choppers of all time.

Clem Johnson's "Barn Job" Vincent Drag Bike

This bike is so insane when it comes to custom fabrication, just read the article as seemingly every piece of the puzzle has been modified by the brilliant owner/racer!
