Twinkle Glitter - the Real Metal Flake?

Before the name changed to metal flake it was apparently called Twinkle Glitter. Ad is from a 1961 Car Craft Magazine!

"Metalflake" - with a capitol M - was a registered trademark in 1960 of the Dobeckmun Co., part of Dow Chemical at the time. They spun themselves off soon after, and became the Metalflake Corp.

That's why Crescent Bronze Powder had to call their flake "Twinkle Glitter" in '61. Same reason Ditzler (PPG)had to call their flake "Sun- Gleam", and Aero-Lac called theirs "Aero-Flake".

Rich, thanks for insight and Jimmy I hear you as "Twinkle Glitter" does sound pretty pansy!
