That be Joe Hemmis of Cumberland Md. circa 1959 and his eyes always looked like that even when he was standin' still.
Typo on the year...this photo looks more like 69. He won one of several Championships in 59.
KB - You're correct as the first picture and the one I just added are from the late '60s. Thanks for the info!
