Skinny Swedish Knuckles Revisted!

I'm sure everyone has seen these two Knuckleheads, built by Joakim Krantz of Sweden, but they really continue to be tops in my book for both style and simplicity and of course narrowness. The 1947 Tangerine knuckle was featured in the April 2005 issue of Ironworks and the 1941 Red knuckle was featured a year later in April 2006, same magazine! I especially love how the Amal 389 & 689 mirror image monobloc carbs are used on both machines!

1960's Craziness!

Here's a cool picture from 1965 and the caption reads: "David and Goliath all over again - Bob Loux, near side, later pitted his fuel Triumph 40-incher against 80-dual engine Triumph of Dick Rios at AHRA Championships, won wth 144.25, 10.73." The fool took the twin engine contender, nice!

Skateboard: Evolution and Art in California Exhibit

A colleague at work passed along this article from the LA Times about what appears to be a cool vintage skateboard art exhibit at the California Heritage Museum, located at 2612 Main Street, Santa Monica, CA 90405 and running from 11/14/09 - 05/30/10. Admission is $8.00 and exhibit hours are 11 AM - 4 PM (Wednesday - Sunday).
